The dsp models they've chosen aren't among the slowest/less powerful ones. and they would still be making tons of cash, from each card sold. A quad should have 8 or 12 dsps, an octo, 16 or 24. But I guess the 2nd choice is good.īecause for the price people are paying, and what those dsps do cost, the dsp cards should have 2 or 3 times more chips. Though, the guys at UAD must have versions of their plug-ins that RUN on standard x86 platforms, and probably, they run much faster on old I7 3770k or I5 2500k cpus than on their cheapo dsp processors, as they have chosen to work with some of the least expensive and least powerful shark DSPs.
